Sea Force IX Building New Sportsfishers 76.5 to 86.5 FeetView scanned articleShowboats International A new line of performance sport-fishing vessels will soon sail from the west coast of Florida. Sea Force IX is a new company offering sportfishers at 76.5, 81.5 and 86.5 feet in classic open-bridge or enclosed command-bridge models. Tank-tested at the Stevens Institute of Technology, the hull generates lift for stability and dry, flat running. The boats feature a rugged construction technique where all structural and interior components are secondarily bonded with epoxy and fiberglass. Two standard floor plans are offered. The forward staterooms can be accessed by a traditional companionway or via a double entry that offers the owners a private entrance to the master stateroom. The two large models feature a leisure deck, which extends aft from the salon. One step down are boarding platforms on either side of the boat. A full-service fishing cockpit, which offers access to the engine room, is an additional step down. The first from the line, a command-bridge 81.5-footer, will launch in late 2003. With 4,000 horsepower from twin MTU 16V2000 diesels, the yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 35 knots. For more information, contact Sea Force IX at 941-721-9009. |
